September Tour Tuesday – Elections!
Touring the Archives
We’ve had a number of requests lately for people wanting to see behind the scenes at the Polly Rosenbaum State Archives building. And since we love showing our building off, we’re happy to oblige! Just give us a call to request a special tour. If you are part of a group that is interested in getting a personalized tour, we’re happy to accommodate so long as we have plenty of notice and have time in the calendar. We do require that there are at least seven people on the tour, and we can’t take more than twenty people on each tour. This is a great idea if you are a library/archives staff from another institution, if you are a particular state agency interested in seeing what records we have from your agency, or just a group or club interested in history. Call 602.926.3720 to request information.

February – Arizona Celebrates Statehood! This month’s tour will be cancelled as it falls on Statehood Day, and most of our staff will be taking care of our precious documents across the street in the old capitol. Be sure to visit us at 1700 W. Washington to view some of our rare documents! Schedule of events for Statehood Day is still to-be-determines, but feel free to call if you have questions: 602.926.3720.
March – A Cartographic Journey Through Arizona: Join Map Librarian Julie Hoff as she provides an introduction to the map holdings at the Arizona State Archives. Guest speakers will be present to talk about historic maps and mapping techniques. Tour happens Tuesday, January 10, 2 p.m.
